Every Whistle, Every Weekend

Youth sports do not run on a nine-to-five schedule. Tournaments fill weekends, showcases run nights and holidays, and a single event can stretch across multiple days and several fields at once. For an operator running thousands of these a year, one rule never bends: every game, practice, and tournament needs a credentialed athletic trainer on site. The hard part is making that true everywhere, all the time.

The Operator’s Problem

3STEP Sports is the largest name in youth-sports tournaments, events, apparel, and club teams, with more than 3.2 million athletes competing each year across nine sports and 143 brands, including NXTsports, Adidas 3SSB, and the Under Armour Select Game. Coordinating athlete safety at that scale is its own logistics challenge. A large tournament can require 3 to 5 athletic trainers working 8 to 12 hour shifts across multiple days, and sourcing them the old way meant cold-calling individual trainers, local staffing agencies, and regional hospital systems across hundreds of cities. Every acquisition added more events, more venues, and more coverage to solve for.

A Network That Scales

Go4 gave 3STEP a single national network of more than 21,000 athletic trainers available exactly when youth sports happen: nights, weekends, and holidays. Staffing can be managed centrally at the corporate level or handed to individual divisions and events for last-minute changes. As 3STEP adds new clubs and operators, the platform scales with each one, with no new vendor hunt required.

Coverage is only half the value. Go4’s in-app Injury Report lets trainers document every incident on site. Parents receive a PDF they can hand to a family physician, and every report is stored on a HIPAA-compliant server, giving the operator a clear record of action if it is ever needed.
