NATIONAL ATHLETIC TRAINERS’ ASSOCIATION (NATA) JOINS FORCES
WITH GO 4 ELLIS TO CONNECT THOUSANDS OF CERTIFIED ATHLETIC TRAINERS WITH UNDER-STAFFED HOSPITALS AND HEALTH CARE SYSTEMS DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Dallas, TX – National Athletic Trainers’ Association and Go4Ellis, a mobile per-diem job platform, have joined forces to connect thousands of athletic trainers with understaffed hospitals and health care systems throughout the United States during the COVID-19 pandemic. Athletic Trainers are health care professionals trained in a variety of medical competencies such as triage, intake, patient care and assessment and sterilization.

The app provides health care systems and governmental health departments needing medical staff with immediate access to a qualified workforce of athletic trainers.

“As we hear about understaffed hospitals and the stressed health care systems, we want governmental entities and health systems to know that the 45,000+ athletic trainers that we represent are medical professionals that are prepared to go to work during these uncertain times,” said NATA President, Tory Lindley, MA, ATC. “Athletic trainers are skilled in the full continuum of care, from prevention and diagnosis to rehabilitation. We work alongside physicians in a host of settings –sports, military, industrial, higher education, performing arts and clinical. Many of our members have already joined their peers in the clinical setting to support with testing, transport and documentation. We are proud to have a partner in Go4Ellis that quickly and easily connects those in need of help with those ready to serve.”

There is no cost to create an account or extensive paperwork involved, making the connection and hiring process as seamless as possible so work can start within hours after the initial connection. Originally, the app was created to allow youth sports event operators, or anyone looking to hire an athletic trainer, to provide on-site health care during a game, practice or tournament. With the cessation of sports events across the country due to COVID-19, there are now thousands of available qualified health care professionals, who are educated, trained and ready to help through this unprecedented time.

“Athletic trainers are uniquely qualified and trained to calmly and decisively act during crisis situations. Our diversified, clinical skill-set will allow our profession to shine during this dark time,” said Chief Medical Officer, K. Ellis F. Mair, EdM, ATC. “As a profession, we are well prepared to help bear the burden about to be put on our health care system through helplines, patient education, collecting patient histories, triage and COVID-19 testing. Go4Ellis is a healthcare logistics platform and we excited to be joining NATA in helping to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.”
