Steel Sports and Go4 Join Forces

(PHILADELPHIA, PA) – Go4, the only nation-wide platform for hiring per diem athletic trainers, is joining forces with Steel Sports, one of the country’s leading youth sports organizations, to hire athletic trainers for camps, clinics, and tournaments in multiple states across the country. Under Go4’s National Account program, Steel Sports’ members and coaches will gain access to over 14,000 athletic trainers.

Based on the coaching principles of the late Baseball Hall of Fame Coach, Tommy Lasorda, Steel Sports focuses on putting kids first and helping young athletes reach their potential via the core values of Teamwork, Respect, Integrity, and Commitment. Since its founding in 2011, the company has grown its offerings to over 1,200 national soccer and baseball camps, tournaments, and clinics for boys and girls of all ages.

That level of youth participation requires athletic trainers to properly mitigate injury risk and create the safest environment possible for all participants. Go4’s app-based platform allows teams and organizations to list their event, and then choose from the pool of certified athletic trainers who apply to work the per diem job. The 14,000 athletic trainers on the platform fill the need for an organization who operates from coast to coast.

“Putting KIDS FIRST requires a commitment to providing a safe experience, and the partnership with Go4 allows us to provide qualified athletic trainers at our Steel Sports events and facilities,” said Joe Santilli, Senior VP. Steel Experience. “This is not only about responding to injuries, but also providing education to coaches and families so that we can identify the risks and prevent injuries before they occur.”

Steel Sports will also work hand in hand with the Go4 team to craft educational materials and webinars to prepare their legion of coaches to provide a safe environment. These resources maintain a high standard of care and active education for Steel Sports’ Team Steel, Steel United, and all players and families who participate in events across regions. Best practices for play in extreme heat, excessive cold, hydration and nutritional guidance are just a few examples of areas where coach and organizational involvement is crucial.

“We are very proud at Go4 to be working with such an outstanding organization, led by a group of people who place a premium on the safety of the youth participants at their nationwide events,” says Ricky Schwartzberg, Director of National Accounts at Go4. “Steel Sports recognizes the extraordinary value and incomparable skill sets that athletic trainers bring to every sideline. Through Go4’s community of athletic trainers, Steel Sports positions themselves to always have the proper healthcare professionals onsite to parallel their experienced coaches and event staff.”
