Go4Ellis Enters Strategic Partnership with Midwest Premier League
(PHILADELPHIA, PA / MI) – Midwest Premier League (MWPL) is partnering with Go4Ellis, an on-demand app for finding athletic trainers, making player safety a cornerstone of their inaugural soccer season.
The MWPL is comprised of 20 member clubs from throughout the midwestern United States. 12 teams from Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin head up the West Division, while 8 additional teams from Michigan comprise the East Division. This semi-professional league features men’s clubs, the founding four of which were previously members of the United Premier Soccer League. The new league was started with the goal of creating a sustainable league by sharing ideas, limiting league expenses, and limiting end-of-season playoffs that have a tendency to shorten the season for most of the teams. The MWPL has also partnered with the National Independent Soccer Association, a Division 3 U.S Soccer league that provides pathways for both players and clubs to go fully professional.
Athletic trainer services include injury and illness prevention, wellness promotion and education, emergency care, examination and clinical diagnosis. As healthcare professionals, athletic trainers are also trained and equipped in executing COVID-19 protocols as well as in managing and enforcing state or local return-to-play guidelines.
The resource partnership with Go4Ellis is a demonstration of the league’s commitment to their players in action. Go4Ellis has a large footprint in the Midwest, and the strategic partnership will provide the MWPL with access to over 12,000 licensed athletic trainers currently on the Go4Ellis platform.
On Go4Ellis, clubs will be able to set their own competitive pay rate, and also get to avoid any long term contracts which reduces additional expenses. The platform offers per diem shifts, so member clubs can hire a certified AT for a single practice or gameday.
“The Midwest Premier League is excited to establish a partnership with Go4Ellis to provide a creative solution to clubs looking to staff their athletic training needs to ensure we provide first-class care for our players. This is an exciting step forward for the league, and a tremendous resource to provide our clubs,” said Andy Hayes, MWPL Commissioner.
Athletic trainers on the Go4Ellis platform also have exclusive access to the only HIPAA-compliant mobile EMR. ATs can now focus on patient-centered treatment with documented evaluations and proof of action that provides efficient collaboration with the next clinician that treats the patient. De-identified data is also aggregated to drive education and policy in youth sports.
“We are excited to serve as a resource to the Midwest Premier League. Their values of a better player experience align perfectly with Go4Ellis. In today’s climate, having qualified healthcare professionals on your sideline is a must; with the on-demand platform, teams can budget for their medical staff only when they need it most, which helps with the league’s sustainability,” said Robin Baxter, Sales, Business Development at Go4Ellis.
Go4Ellis believes that there should be an athletic trainer on every sideline, everywhere. Streamlined access to healthcare professionals has been a constant challenge within the amateur sports world. With the Go4Ellis platform, MWPL coaches and league organizers will be able to select from a pool of qualified applicants, mitigating their risk of operating. The shift poster is able to set the pay rate, meaning the benefits are also budget conscious.
