US Club Soccer and Go4 extends 3-year commitment to player safety

(PHILADELPHIA, PA / CHARLESTON, SC (Jan. 25, 2022) – Go4, the only national, on-demand platform for hiring per diem athletic trainers, and US Club Soccer, a National Association member of the U.S. Soccer Federation, have renewed their strategic alliance. The relationship was fully adopted in the fall of 2021 after years of Go4, formerly Go4Ellis, assisting US Club Soccer with per diem athletic trainers at its national events. US Club Soccer members benefit from the access to the same platform that its staff uses to access more than 14,000 certified athletic trainers for on-site medical care and injury prevention services at games, practices and tournaments across the country.

The agreement has been extended for three years, signaling continued commitment to player safety, parent and staff education, and operational assistance for soccer clubs.

Go4’s mission has been to put an athletic trainer on every sideline, everywhere. Streamlined access to healthcare professionals has been a constant challenge within the amateur sports world. With the Go4 platform, US Club Soccer coaches, tournament directors, and league organizers can select from a pool of qualified applicants, mitigating their risk of operating and providing a safer environment for everyone.

All US Club Soccer members and affiliates in need of athletic trainers should use this link (https://www.go4.io/hire-ats-us-club-soccer/) to create their account and gain access to the nationwide network of athletic trainers.

Go4’s foundation on safety aligns with US Club Soccer, which has unequivocally put player health and safety as a top priority in its programming and offerings. The organization’s flagship initiative, Players First, is built on five pillars: Club Development, Coaching Development, Player Development, Parent Engagement and Education, and Player Health and Safety. By facilitating this holistic environment, players can reach their full potential in the sport and develop skills that benefit them long after their playing days.

The expanded union with Go4 will also provide US Club Soccer teams and tournament operators with valuable content, like cheat sheets and webinars on player safety, risk mitigation, and proactive plans to keep players in the game.

“Health and safety is of utmost importance to US Club Soccer, and we’re always looking for ways to facilitate a safer environment on and off the field,” said Alexandra Rieben, US Club Soccer Sr. Director of Partnerships & Events. “With the partnership extension, US Club Soccer will continue to source top-notch athletic trainers through Go4 during events, offer this service to all our members and provide valuable health and safety resources throughout the season. We know our members expect the highest standard of safety, so we’re delighted to continue to partner with the experts at Go4.”

Athletic trainer services include injury and illness prevention, wellness promotion and education, emergency care, examination and clinical diagnosis. As healthcare professionals, athletic trainers are also trained and equipped in executing COVID-19 protocols as well as in managing and enforcing state or local return-to-play guidelines.

“We are thrilled to continue working with US Club Soccer as they create and maintain the safest environments in youth soccer,” said Ellis Mair, VP of Medicine and Community. “In any sport there is a risk of injury, and we’re excited to help US Club Soccer utilize best practices to keep player safety at the core of their mission. An athletic trainer on every sideline means preventing and managing these injuries appropriately.”
