About the Team
Go4 is a sports safety and intelligence platform. We place credentialed Athletic Trainers at events and venues. Every shift produces structured data: a verified credential check, a venue-specific emergency action plan, and a clinical record filed on site. More than 26,000 Athletic Trainers work through Go4, serving more than 5,000 schools, colleges, leagues, and facilities across all 50 states. We work remotely and bring the whole company together in person four times a year.
The coverage is the service and the record is the asset. Go4 is becoming the authoritative record of who provided medical coverage, where, and to what standard. That record is the data layer that makes credentialing, governance, and insurance underwriting possible at scale.
We are building our first internal product and engineering organization to deliver V2 of the Go4 platform. V2 is not a rewrite of a side project. It is the evolution of a live, revenue-generating platform into a modern suite of applications, services, and data.
About the Role
The Product Manager owns the V2 roadmap and the day-to-day product delivery process. You sit at the center of design, engineering, analytics, customer feedback, business strategy, and go-to-market.
V2 includes four connected application surfaces: Athletic Trainer mobile and web, and Job Poster mobile and web. Development uses an API contract-first model so that application and backend engineering can work at the same time. The program runs from design and technical foundations through parallel implementation, an integrated build, and then a protected hardening and launch readiness period.
That means this role manages dependencies across product design, engineering architecture, API delivery, application development, analytics, QA, operational readiness, and go-to-market, rather than individual feature tickets.
You would join Go4’s first internal product and engineering cohort alongside the Senior Solutions Engineer, the Lead Application Engineer, the Product Manager, and the Product Analyst, under our Head of Technology. The four of you arrive together and set the standards everyone after you inherits.
In this role, you will:
- Translate company strategy and the V2 product vision into a roadmap that is actively managed rather than published once.
- Convert product concepts and designs into clear requirements, workflows, acceptance criteria, and delivery increments.
- Own V2 launch scope and hold the line on scope change.
- Coordinate sequencing across design, application engineering, backend engineering, data, QA, analytics, operations, and go-to-market, and keep dependencies, blockers, decisions, and milestone risk visible.
- Partner with engineering leadership on technical and product tradeoffs, and with the Lead Application Engineer on application behavior and delivery.
- Work with the Product Analyst to define KPIs, instrumentation requirements, validation approaches, and post-launch measurement, before features ship rather than after.
- Lead customer and user feedback loops with Athletic Trainers and Job Posters, and convert what you hear into product decisions.
- Own product acceptance and release readiness criteria.
- Coordinate focus groups, pilots, staged rollout, and post-launch learning.
- Build and prioritize the post-V2 roadmap across marketplace expansion, Athletic Trainer engagement, schools and facilities, operational tooling, and emerging data products.
What the first year looks like:
We have already written the scorecard you would be reviewed against. It has four objectives, and they carry from this description into your 2027 performance review unchanged.
- V2 launch scope defined and controlled. What ships for launch is written down, agreed, and defended.
- An executable roadmap with the program aligned behind it. Design, engineering, analytics, QA, operations, and go to market work from the same plan.
- Customer feedback and release readiness built into how we work. Decisions trace to evidence, and shipping has a standard.
- V2 launched, and the next roadmap is ready. Through hardening, pilot, and staged rollout, with a prioritized post-V2 plan.
You might thrive in this role if you:
- Have managed product for technically meaningful software, with real experience in roadmap development, requirements, acceptance criteria, and iterative delivery.
- Have worked directly with software engineers on multi-surface consumer products and technical dependencies, across both mobile and web.
- Are technically fluent. You do not need to be an engineer, but you should discuss APIs, application architecture, data flows, instrumentation, environments, and technical debt without treating engineering as a black box.
- Have owned scope and change management on a program where the launch date mattered.
- Have run customer discovery yourself, and can describe a product decision that changed because of what you heard.
- Have planned QA and release, and have been in the room when the call was made to ship or hold.
- Have personally written the requirements, run the interviews, investigated the metrics, and sat in QA. Our product organization is small and will stay that way for a while.
- Use AI in your current work and can describe how the changes in available tooling has impacted specific workflows, solution design principals, and approach to your job. We currently run on Claude, and are continuously adapting our workflows to empower a small team to cover this scope by way of that leverage.
Also valuable:
- Experience in marketplaces, workforce technology, healthcare, SaaS, sports technology, or fintech, or other products with operationally complex workflows.
- Experience in a scaling organization, particularly one that was building its first internal product function.
- Experience launching across mobile and web at the same time.
- Experience working with an external design or development partner.

Compensation
$125K to $155K plus equity
The base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to the salary range listed above, total compensation includes a meaningful equity grant, an annual performance bonus, and the following benefits.
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance for you and your family, with Go4 contributing 50% of premium cost.
- 401(k) retirement plan.

We are building our first internal product and engineering organization, and we view this team differently from hires joining an established department. We structure compensation to give early team members real participation in the long-term value they help create, and we expect the responsibilities and leadership opportunities in this role to expand as the platform and the organization do.
More details about our benefits are available to candidates during the hiring process. This role is at-will and Go4 reserves the right to modify base pay and other compensation components at any time based on individual performance, team or company results, or market conditions.

Our process is four conversations. You will have a 30-minute screen with our CEO, a 60-minute technical conversation with our Head of Technology, an hour with the product and engineering cohort you would work alongside, and a final hour with our CEO and COO together.
As part of the hiring process, there will be a short take-home exercise after the Technical conversation with our Head of Technology, which we’ll review in the next conversation.
