What’s something that you can’t work a shift without? Snacks! And great coworkers. Couldn’t get through these shifts without them.
What is the Weirdest / Wildest / Most Interesting / Out there RN job you’ve ever worked?
My most interesting memories are probably from my days working on a thoracic surgery floor with patients who had 2, 3, 4 chest tubes and getting them up and walking multiple times a day. That or working in an observation unit in West Philly. We saw some weird stuff come through there.
Share your best Moment / Story / Anecdote as an RN:
It’s so hard to pick just one. One of my favorite stories is from when I was a new nurse. My patient (who I was warned scaled the walls, crawled through the vents, and landed in an OR at a different hospital) escaped his 1:1 and was running around the unit at 3 am. Made his way into the break room and was spinning in circles holding a fresh pot of coffee, spraying hot coffee all over the room and anyone in there trying to help. That was fun!
Quote/Lyric/Line that sums up Nursing For You: “Just another manic Monday . . . or Tuesday, or Wednesday . . . “
What has been the biggest change in the year of the pandemic?
So many things… every day things seem to be changing. The biggest is probably getting deployed to help different areas of the hospital when the ORs get shut down.
When you’re not working, where can we find you?
Vacation, happy hour with friends or hanging out with my nieces and nephews 🙂
