The responsibilities of a registered nurse include, but are not limited to: preparing patients for exams and procedures, observing and liaising with patients, administering, monitoring, and recording treatments that physicians issue, operating medical equipment, and drawing blood. There are also nursing specialties, which broaden the scope of duties that an RN performs.
