How many years of college to be an athletic trainer?

It takes a minimum of four years to get an undergraduate degree as an athletic trainer. To increase their competitiveness, some will spend an additional one to three years to acquire their Master’s degree in the field. It is necessary that athletic trainers acquire all necessary certifications before becoming a practicing athletic trainer. Undergraduate programs are currently transitioning to a six-year program where candidates will receive both their Bachelors and Masters degrees.
