By partnering with Go4, they secured highly qualified ATs, ensuring uninterrupted sports medicine support for their student-athletes. This case study explores how Go4 addressed Miami University’s staffing challenges and provided flexible solutions to meet their evolving needs.

CHALLENGE

In December 2023, Miami University needed an AT for the upcoming spring semester (January–May 2024). The role required a quick turnaround, as the position needed to be filled by the start of the new year. Traditional hiring methods, including posting on industry job boards, were costly, time-consuming, and ineffective for immediate needs.

Likewise, their athletic program continued to expand and there was a growing need for PRN athletic trainers to support various events and teams.

Finally, In November 2024, Miami University faced a staffing crisis when an AT resigned mid-year. Despite posting on the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) job board, the university struggled to fill the role for its women’s field hockey program, which required coverage from January 20 to the end of May 2025.

Solution

Go4’s dedicated Contract Services team. Miami University contacted Go4 in mid-December for assistance knowing that traditional methods for hiring an athletic trainer would not fill the void in time. A contract was finalized in less than one week, allowing recruitment from Go4’s network of 23k athletic trainers to begin promptly.

A qualified, certified athletic trainer accepted the new position in early January and started working at Miami University, OH on January 22.

For the second position (mid-year vacancy), Go4 was able to place an athletic trainer on January 20th to support the field hockey program.

Miami University’s partnership with Go4 has provided a streamlined, efficient, and reliable solution for both long-term and PRN athletic training needs. The ability to quickly recruit and onboard qualified ATs has minimized disruptions to the university’s sports medicine program, ensuring that student-athletes receive consistent, high-quality care.
