Go4 is seeking a head athletic trainer for contract fulfillment at Newton South High School in Newton, MA. This position will be approximately 25 hours per week providing athletic training services to student-athletes. This position is open and accepting applications for immediate fulfillment.

Pay: Hourly rates start at $60/hour
Schedule: Approximately 25 hours/week, afternoons and evenings Monday-Friday through May 26, 2023

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain the overall Sports Medicine program for school including, but not limited to: injury prevention programs, injury evaluations, injury management, injury treatment and rehabilitation, educational programs and counseling for student-athletes.

Provide athletic training services for the school’s athletic department including, but not limited to attendance at scheduled team practices, home and away competitions, as deemed necessary by Athletic Director.

In coordination with supervising physician, review pre-participation physical examinations and coordinate medical referrals for student athletes to determine their ability to practice and compete.

Work in conjunction with strength and conditioning and coaching staffs to ensure safety in the design and implementation of fitness, nutrition, and conditioning programs customized to meet individual student-athlete needs.

Maintain up to date health records and injury documentation of each encounter with student-athletes.

Practice in accordance with education, training and the state’s statutes, rules and regulations and abide by principles set forth in the NATA Code of Ethics.

The Ideal Candidate has:

3 years experience in secondary school  or similar setting

Active BOC certification

MA athletic training license
